Utada Hikaru revealed on twitter that she is working on new music.
Hikaru has been working on a new song, tentatively titled "Sashiire Cappuccino", since the beginning of the year. The new song, if released, would be her first new song since she released "Sakura Nagashi" in 2012 as the theme song to the 3rd "Rebuild of Evangelion" movie.
So far, Hikaru as been responsible for all of the theme songs for the "Rebuild of Evangelion" movie series. She is expected the provide the theme song for the 4th movie which will likely come out later this year.
It is rumored that Hikaru may be planning a comeback this year. According to Shukan Bunshun, an anonymous record label source stated that confidential talks are underway for the singer to release a new album, fulfilling a contractual obligation to release one more album with Universal Music Japan. No official word has been giving regarding this matter.
Hikaru has been on indefinite hiatus since 2010. She has spent the past few years focusing on living her life, finding love and doing whatever she wants.
