Girls' Generation member YoonA has been cast as the female lead in the upcoming historical Chinese drama "God of War Zhao Yun".
The new series is base on the novel "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature. The series will focus onZhao Yun, one of the famed heroes from the novel.
YoonA has been cast as Xiahou Jing, Zhao Yun's lover. The couple's love is complicated when Jing discovers that Yun is the one who has killed her father.
"God of War Zhao Yun" has many big names attached to it, including rising star Lin Gengxin.
Filming for the drama will begin in January. It will begin airing in August onHunan TV.
